On June 22, 2017, Life Care Center of the South Shore in Scituate, Massachusetts, hosted a Kicking off Summer Cookout for the local Council on Aging.
About 50 attendees from Marshfield, Scituate and Norwell, Massachusetts, came to the facility for a delicious lunch prepared by the dietary staff. Lunch included burgers, hot dogs and chicken on the grill, which was manned by Food Service Director Fred Willette and Executive Director Stephen Jeffery. Corn on the cob, homemade coleslaw and potato salad were the scrumptious sides.
To top off lunch, Willette created a key lime mousse topped with raspberries and coconut cookie wafers which everyone raved about!
The team at Life Care Center of the South Shore assisted with serving the guests.
“We had a great time mingling and meeting some new people from the community,” said Carolyn Colby, business development director.
Prize drawings included a 50/50, a Fourth of July gift basket, a Yankee Candle gift basket and some Life Care Center of the South Shore accessories. Guests, including local seniors and the staff from the Council on Aging, commented on the friendliness of the staff at the facility and that anytime they turned around or needed something, someone was there to assist.
The facility plans to hold the cookout annually.
